Second Life Materials - Thatched Roofing Normal Specular Texture Maps

Second Life has released the official viewer which now supports Normal and Specular Material Maps.

These can be applied to prims in world from: Edit -Texture Tab.
There is a drop down menu for each material.

3D Texture Materials have been available from TRU Textures for 18 months and initially aimed at designers who used external 3D software for the creation of meshes and models.

Now, these same textures can be used and applied in real time and from within the Second Life environment.

How cool is that?

As such, I am going back over previously created Diffuse (2D) texture packs and start adding Normal and Specular maps.

Here is the first.

80 texture material collection of Thatched Roofing.

Includes 40 Diffuse textures that are available new or clean as well as with a dirty, weathered effect.

The four shades come in four designs which include transparent edges and rope support.

Each Diffuse texture was created uniquely and not just a re-colour of the same texture.

The full material map collection can be purchased for commercial use in Second Life from the Marketplace  for 1000 Linden Dollars.

And as always, they will be available for use not associated with Second Life such as game development or other types of virtual worlds from the TRU Textures website under the "Extended License
